Ingredients
2 cans (21 oz each) strawberry pie filling
1 box (15.25 oz) vanilla cake mix or white cake mix
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Optional toppings:
Vanilla ice cream
Whipped cream
Fresh strawberries
Powdered sugar
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
3. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly in the baking dish.
4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the strawberry filling.
5. Do not stir the layers.
6. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
7. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the filling bubbles around the edges.
8. Let the cobbler cool for 10 minutes before serving.
9. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
Notes
For the best golden crust, do not skip the melted butter. A dry cake mix topping can stay powdery if it is not covered well with butter. Use a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent overflow.
