  • 4 cups fresh blueberries (or frozen, not thawed)
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch salt

  • vanilla ice cream
  • whipped cream
  • fresh blueberries
  • lemon zest

Instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.


Step 2

Spread blueberries evenly into the baking dish.

Add sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, lemon juice and salt.

Toss gently.


Step 3

Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit.

Do not stir.


Step 4

Slowly drizzle melted butter over the cake mix.

Cover as much surface as possible.

If dry spots remain, drizzle additional melted butter.


Step 5

Bake for 45–55 minutes until

  • golden brown
  • bubbling edges
  • crisp topping

Step 6

Cool 10–15 minutes.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

✔ Frozen blueberries should NOT be thawed.

✔ Don’t mix the cake mix into the fruit.

✔ Extra butter on dry spots gives a perfect crust.

✔ Let the cobbler rest before serving so the juices thicken.

✔ Fresh lemon juice brightens the blueberry flavor.
