- Beef & Marinade:
- 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Stir-Fry:
- 2 medium zucchinis, sliced into half-moons
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (or peanut oil)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- Sauce:
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp cornstarch (for thickening, optional)
- Garnish:
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Marinate the Beef – In a bowl, mix sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Prepare Ingredients – Slice zucchini, mince garlic and ginger, and thinly slice the onion.
- Heat Oil – Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil.
- Cook Beef – Stir-fry beef for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics – In the same pan, add garlic, ginger, and onions. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Cook Zucchini – Add sliced zucchini and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender.
- Combine Everything – Return beef to the pan. Add oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and beef broth. Stir well and cook for 1 minute.
- Garnish & Serve – Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions. Serve with steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
- Use a high-smoke-point oil like peanut or vegetable oil for best results.
- For a spicier version, add chili flakes or sriracha.
- Adjust sauce consistency by adding more beef broth or thickening with cornstarch slurry.
