Ingredients
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
2 cups raw peanuts
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
A pinch of salt
Instructions
In a large saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
Add the raw peanuts and continue cooking. Stir constantly until the mixture reaches a golden brown color, around 300°F (hard crack stage).
Remove from heat and quickly stir in butter, vanilla, baking soda, and salt.
Pour the mixture onto a greased baking sheet and spread it thin.
Allow it to cool completely before breaking it into pieces.
Notes
For the best results, use a candy thermometer to ensure you reach the correct temperature. Be careful when handling the hot sugar mixture.
