Scale
Basic Cookie Dough
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg (or egg substitute for vegan)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup chocolate chips (or mix-ins like nuts, caramel, or peanut butter)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: Mix all ingredients in a bowl until well combined. Chill the dough for 30 minutes for better texture.
- Preheat (Optional): Some air fryers require preheating. If yours does, preheat to 320°F (160°C) for 3 minutes.
- Shape the Cookies: Roll the dough into 2 tbsp-sized balls. Flatten slightly for even baking.
- Line the Air Fryer: Use parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking.
- Bake the Cookies: Place cookies in a single layer, leaving 2 inches of space between them. Air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 7-8 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool & Enjoy: Let cookies rest in the air fryer basket for 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
- For Chewier Cookies: Use more brown sugar and slightly underbake.
- For Crispier Cookies: Bake for an extra 1-2 minutes.
- Storage: Keep in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Freeze dough portions for future baking.
- Gluten-Free Option: Substitute all-purpose flour with almond flour or a gluten-free blend.
- Vegan Option: Replace egg with 1 tbsp flaxseed + 2.5 tbsp water and butter with coconut oil.
